Abstract submissions for the conference will be accepted electronically through AIAA’s Web site at www.aiaa.org/events/sdm. This Web site will be open for abstract submittal starting 12 May 2008, and will remain open through 11 August 2008.
The 50th Structures, Structural dynamics, and Materials Conference is sponsored by AIAA, ASME, ASCE, AHS, and ASC. This established conference is a widely anticipated annual event that provides a unique forum dedicated to the latest development in the collective disciplines of structures, structural dynamics, materials, design engineering, and survivability. The 50th Conference will also host the 17th Adaptive Structures Conference, the 11th Non-Deterministic Approaches Conference, the 10th Gossamer Spacecraft Forum, and the 5th Multidisciplinary Design Optimization Specialist Conference. Plenary presentations, given by recognized, forward-thinking invited speakers will be a special feature of the conference. This is the 50th anniversary of this conference, and presentations will look into the past to characterize where structures and materials developments are today. Based on the current state of the art, presentations will look forward for the next 50 years of structures, structural dynamics and materials, and their potential applications in future generations of air and space vehicles.
