障诊断与容错控制领域国际著名权威学者Ron J. Patton教授访问自动化学院并做学术报告

10月30日上午,故障诊断与容错控制领域国际权威学者Ron Patton教授应邀在将军路校区自动化学院1号楼403会议室做题为“Fault-tolerantIndividual Pitch Control using Adaptive Sliding Mode Observer”的学术报告,会议由自动化学院院长姜斌教授主持,自动化学院部分师生参加了报告会。



Patton教授以风力发电机为背景,讲述其在发生执行器及传感器故障,并受到未知干扰情况下的控制问题。风力发电机的总体控制目标就是获取最大的风能以转化为电能,这个目标可以通过三个控制通道来实现,分别为:俯仰控制(通常是集体的但有时是单个的)以防涡轮在设计的速度范围之外工作;偏航控制使塔台指向风向以获得最高效率;发电机转矩控制以提供更好的电力调节。



Patton教授强调,每一个控制通道对于最高效的能源转换都是至关重要的。另外,Patton教授还指出了风力发电机控制与飞行控制的相似之处,这对航空航天为背景的科学研究具有较强的借鉴意义。



最后,Patton教授与到场的师生进行了交流互动,耐心解答了师生们提出的学术问题。讲座结束后,Patton教授与到会师生代表合影留念。



报告人简介:

Ron J. Patton graduated at Sheffield Universitywith Beng, Meng, PhD degrees in Electrical & Electronic Engineering andControl Systems. He holds the Chair in Control & Intelligent SystemsEngineering at Hull University and has made a substantial contribution during35 years to the field of modeling and robust methods for FDI/FDD (faultdetection and isolation/fault detection and diagnosis) and Fault-TolerantControl (FTC) in dynamic systems. He has Hirsch Index h_58 and is author of 428papers, including 138 journal papers and 5 books.  Ron serves on the Editorial Board of theInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and isSubject Editor in System Supervision: Fault-tolerant Control & Diagnosisfor the Wiley Journal of Adaptive Control & Signal Processing. He hasserved on editorial boards of several other Journals in controlengineering.  Ron chaired theInternational Program Committees for IFAC Safeprocess’97, UKACC Control’98 andMed’08. He chaired the IFAC Technical Committee on Safety & Supervision ofTechnical Processes [1996-2002] and served as vice-chair of the IFAC PolicyCommittee [2008-2011]. For the EC he was rapporteur in 1995 for the committeereporting on the need for European research on Control in Embedded Systems. Roncoordinated the EU research projects IQ2FD [1997-2000] and DAMADICS -2000-2004]and contributed to FP6 NeCST [2004-2007] and FP7 ADDSAFE [2010-2013]. His workhas been supported in the UK by 13 research grants. Current research interestsare: Robust multiple-model and de-centralized strategies for FDI/FDD & FTCand Renewable Energy including load mitigation control for offshore windturbines and wave to wire control of wave energy conversion. He is Life Fellowof IEEE, Senior Member of AIAA and Fellow of the Institute of Measurement andControl.
