美国佐治亚理工学院张卓敏教授应邀访问能源与动力学院并作学术报告

2018年5月3日至4日,美国佐治亚理工学院(Georgia Institute of Technology)张卓敏教授应邀访问能源与动力学院,并在明故宫校区能源与动力学院A10楼619报告厅作题为“Nano/MicroscaleHeat Transport and Thermal Radiation”的四场系列学术报告。报告会由能源与动力学院院长崔海涛教授主持,宣益民院士等数十位老师和研究生参加了学术报告会。


在报告中,张卓敏指出微纳技术在能源材料、电子、生物制药、军事等领域具有很好的应用前景与未来,而相关的热物理研究,特别是微纳尺度传热对能量高效转换利用具有重大影响。张卓敏依次从微纳尺度传热的发展历史与研究现状、微纳尺度热传递机理、超材料热辐射特性、超普朗克近场热辐射理论分析与实验测量四个方面,深入浅出地讲授了微纳尺度传热方面的研究,并与广大师生进行了热烈的交流与讨论。


会后,张卓敏与大家亲切合影,并与相关研究领域的师生进行了深层次、长时间的专业学术讨论与交流。



报告人简介:

Professor Zhuomin Zhang earned a Ph.D. degree from MIT andworked at NIST and University of Florida prior to joining Georgia Tech. Hereceived his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Science andTechnology of China (Hefei). Professor Zhang is a Fellow of ASME, AAAS, andAPS, and an Associate Fellow of AIAA. Professor Zhang’s group has donepioneering research in micro/nanoscale heat transfer especially nanoscalethermal radiation for energy conversion and temperature measurement. He haswritten a book on Nano/Microscale Heat Transfer (McGraw-Hill, 2007),co-authored over 180 journal papers, and given over 370 invited and contributedpresentations. His former students have established independent careers atmajor universities or industry in the United States, China (mainland andTaiwan) and South Korea. In addition, Professor Zhang has supervised manyvisiting scholars, postdoctoral fellows and undergraduate student researchers.He served as an Associated Editor of the ASME Journal of Heat Transfer and theInternational Journal of Thermophysics; currently he serves as an AssociateEditor of the Journal of Thermophysics & Heat Transfer and the Journal ofQuantitative Spectroscopy & Radiative Transfer. He was the Program Chair ofthe ASME 3rd Micro/Nanoscale Heat & Mass Transfer International Conference(Atlanta, March 2012), Chair of the 2nd International Workshop on Nano-MicroThermal Radiation (Shanghai, June 2014), and General Chair for the ASME 5thMicro/Nanoscale Heat & Mass Transfer International Conference (Singapore,January 2016). Professor Zhang was a recipient of the 1999 Presidential EarlyCareer Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) and the 2015 ASME Heat TransferMemorial Award, among others.
