IEEE SMC资深主席Ljiljana Trajkovic教授和IEEE Fellow Shun-Feng Su教授访问自动化学院并做学术报告

2018年04月16日上午,IEEE SMC资深主席Ljiljana Trajkovic教授和IEEE Fellow Shun-Feng Su教授应邀在将军路校区自动化学院1号楼403会议室分别做题为“Machine Learning for Complex Networks”和“Learning Control: Ideas and Problems in Adaptive Fuzzy Control”的学术报告。会议由自动化学院院长姜斌教授主持,自动化学院部分师生参加了报告会。



Trajkovic教授为在座师生讲解了机器学习技术在复杂网络中的应用。她指出,从部署网络中采集和分析数据对于了解现代网络至关重要。所采集到的数据可以用来建模网络流量、分析网络拓扑、对网络异常进行分类以及预测未来网络流量等。这些技术的应用将有助于大家更好地理解现代复杂网络的基本行为机制并提高其性能,包括互联网、社交网络、电网、基因调控网络、神经系统、食物网以及来自增强和虚拟现实平台的网络等。


其后,Su教授为大家讲解了一种学习控制技术——自适应模糊控制。他介绍了学习和学习控制的基本知识,详细讲述了自适应模糊控制的基本思想及其应用,指出了此方法在应用中可能会遇到的一些问题,也给出了解决这些问题的途径。此外,Su教授还耐心地讲解了做学术研究工作中所要注意的一些细节问题,让在座师生受益匪浅。


最后,Trajkovic和Su教授与到场的师生进行了交流互动,耐心解答了师生们所提出的学术问题并与到会师生代表合影留念。

报告人一:

Ljiljana Trajkovic received the Dipl. Ing. degree from University of Pristina, Yugoslavia, in 1974, the M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, in 1979 and 1981, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University of California at Los Angeles, in 1986.

She is currently a Professor in the School of Engineering Science at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. From 1995 to 1997, she was a National Science Foundation (NSF) Visiting Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences Department, University of California, Berkeley. She was a Research Scientist at Bell Communications Research, Morristown, NJ, from 1990 to 1997, and a Member of the Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ, from 1988 to 1990. Her research interests include high-performance communication networks, control of communication systems, computer-aided circuit analysis and design, and theory of nonlinear circuits and dynamical systems.

Dr. Trajkovic serves as IEEE Division Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect (2018). She serves as Senior Past President (2018–2019) of the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society and served as Junior Past President (2016–2017), President (2014–2015), President-Elect (2013), Vice President Publications (2012–2013 and 2010–2011), Vice President Long-Range Planning and Finance (2008–2009), and a Member at Large of its Board of Governors (2004–2006). She served as 2007 President of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society. She was a member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (2001–2003 and 2004–2005). She is Chair of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society joint Chapter of the Vancouver/Victoria Sections. She was Chair of the IEEE Technical Committee on Nonlinear Circuits and Systems (1998). She is General Co-Chair of SMC 2020 and served as General Co-Chair of SMC 2016 and HPSR 2014, Technical Program Co-Chair of ISCAS 2005, and Technical Program Chair and Vice General Co-Chair of ISCAS 2004. She served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems (Part I) (2004–2005 and 1993–1995), the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems (Part II) (1999–2001 and 2002-2003), and the IEEE Circuits and Systems Magazine (2001–2003). She was a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (2010–2011 and 2002–2003). She is a Professional Member of IEEE-HKN and a Fellow of the IEEE.

 

报告人二:

Shun-Feng Su received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering, in 1983, from Taiwan University, Taiwan and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering, in 1989 and 1991, respectively, from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN.

He is now a Chair Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He is an IEEE Fellow and CACS fellow. He has published more than 200 refereed journal and conference papers in the areas of robotics, intelligent control, fuzzy systems, neural networks, and non-derivative optimization. His current research interests include computational intelligence, machine learning, virtual reality simulation, intelligent transportation systems, smart home, robotics, and intelligent control.

Dr. Su is very active in various international/domestic professional societies. He is now the past president of the International Fuzzy Systems Association. He also serves as a board member of various academic societies. Dr. Su also acted as General Chair, Program Chair, or various positions for many international and domestic conferences. Dr. Su currently serves as Associate editors of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics,IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, and IEEE Access, a subject editor (Electrical Engineering) of the Journal of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, and the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Fuzzy Systems.
